Roof replacement

Today’s topic is re-covering your roofs which consist of either asbestos, shingle and tiles – with sheet metal tiles. The adaptation of one roof system can be a really complicated task. A certain degree of caution is necessary in order to follow every step trough correctly. It is highly necessary that you inform yourself correctly.

You need to know everything there is to know about your roof. You need to be aware of the surface of the roof material, flooring plans and similar information. It is possible to overcome a lot of expenses with proper information while also professionally conducting the necessary business.

Replacing asbestos with metal sheet tiles

A lot of people have decided to replace their asbestos-based roof with metal sheet tiles. One of the most common reasons is the longevity of metal tiles, its aesthetic possibilities and the harmfulness of asbestos-based material.

Considering that in most cases, an asbestos-based roof construction consists of a one meter long gap between the laths, there are good options when switching to metal tiles without re-lathing. These options include going with the sinusoidal sheets SANA, and the trapezoidal sheets T-40 RIVER. In case none of these two are suitable for your needs, then we can talk about re-lathing the roof and considering other options.

Replacing shingle with metal sheet tiles

Considering the fact that a shingle roof can be further used as excellent hydro-isolation, it is only necessary to counter-lath and lath the construction and be able to install any type or profile of a sheet metal roof.

Replacing standard tile with metal tiles

The advantages of metal tiles versus standard tiles are an obvious thing today. Metal sheet tiles are much easier and faster to produce, and also to install. If a roof has the standard tile installed already, the probability is that its laths gap are set at 33cm, we can do metal tile roof installation the moment the standard tile is removed.

This kind of lathing (33cm) would support metal sheet tiles such as tile imitation metal sheets UNA and tile imitation sheets BIBER. Even though these gaps are perfectly fine, it is, however, not recommended to go with a metal sheet tile roof if the gaps are set at or above 35cm.
